The Big Red at The Joule Dallas

The Joule Dallas is hosting a spectacular event this weekend called The Big Red. From Friday, November 5th to Sunday, November 7th, 2010, wine lovers can participate in culinary and wine tasting events benefiting the North Texas Food Bank.

Celebrity Chefs, Sommeliers and food and wine enthusiasts from across the country will come together to celebrate Texas wines and culinary delights in this one-of-a-kind epicurean weekend. The Big Red event will include a cooking competition between Charlie Palmer and Dean Fearing against Bryan and Michael Voltaggio, a wine tasting competition against area sommeliers, a food competition amongst the top chefs in Dallas, and a gala on Saturday evening.

Taste of The Big Red

Friday, November 5th 7:30-10:30pm
$125  per person

The Big Red kicks off with wine lovers sampling wines from 20 Texas wineries. The wine tastings are served with dishes Charlie Palmer at The Joule Dallas and local restaurants including; York Street, Fearing’s, Craft, Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck, Abacus, Stephan Pyles, Bonnell’s, Salum and Top Chef Brothers Bryan and Michael Voltaggio. Live music will be performed by Somebody’s Darling, Boys Named Sue, and Grant Jones & The Pistol Grip Lassos.

Texas Tournament Cook-off

Saturday, November 6th
$75 per person

Chef Palmer will team up with local celebrity chef, Dean Fearing, against chef Scott Romano and Bryan Voltaggio of Top Chef fame for a Texas culinary challenge.

Texas Red Hoe-Down

Saturday, November 6th
$50  per person

Don’t miss The Big Red Hoe-Down. Each Sommelier enters the room with three of his favorite Texas red wines. The Sommeliers will have to sell you on their wine choices and dish it out in a head-to-head pitch contest followed by a tasting where you decide by ‘popular vote’.

The Big Red Gala

Saturday, November 6th
$250  per person

Savor a sumptuous 5-course dinner paired with wines of Texas at this exclusive dine around featuring signature dishes from Charlie Palmer, Scott Romano, and Ruben Torano and guest chef’s Bryan Voltaggio and Dean Fearing. The winner of The Big Red will be revealed during Saturday night’s Gala.

The Big Red Late Night is a late evening celebration following the gala with after-dinner drinks from Texas’ own Tito’s vodka and dessert in the Joule’s Penthouse.
