Super Sized Fun is the theme for the 2010 State Fair of Texas. Super sized fun describes what the Fair has brought to Dallas since 1886. Offering an endless array of foods, exhibits, attractions, competitions and entertainment, the Fair is known for its oversized signature icons – including the tallest Ferris wheel in North America, the largest new car show in the southwest, the 52-ft Big Tex, and one of the greatest rivalries in college football – the annual Red River Rivalry between Texas and OU.
In addition to the annual Red River Rivalry and the State Fair Classic (Grambling vs. Prairie View), Texas Tech and Baylor will meet at the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium in what Fair officials hope will become a tradition. Remembering Tom Landry: The Personal Collection continues the football theme with items from the private collection of Tom and Alicia Landry. The exhibit will be housed in two wings of the Texas Hall of State.
Traditional State Fair favorites, like the Auto Show, pig races and the midway are back, as well as new fried food delights, ‘fried beer‘ and ‘Texas Fried FRITOS® Pie’.
The spotlight will shine on Shrek the Musical, during this year’s State Fair of Texas. The Broadway hit will be presented daily (except Mondays) at the Music Hall. Tickets for the show will include admission to the Fair on the day of the performance. Contact My Personal Valet to order your tickets for Shrek the Musical.
