Or if you are like me, maybe it doesn’t grow at all. That is why I enjoy a visit to the farmer’s market or one of the local markets that are springing up all over Dallas. This week, I am featuring the White Rock Local Market.
East Dallas residents are in love with the White Rock Local Market. But you don’t have to live in East Dallas to enjoy this bi-monthly event. White Rock Local Market has a variety of local farmers, merchants and artists. It is held in front of The Green Spot Market and Fuels on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. The 4th Saturday is just for the farmers and other food vendors. The 2nd Saturday includes vendors with food items like local honey from the Texas Honey Bee Guild; vegan breads and cookies from Tough Cookie/Just Twisted, and an abundance of fresh, local fruits, vegetables and herbs.
Besides all the fresh goodness of the farmer’s market, White Rock Local Market also has a fantastic crafts market. On my last visit, there was a booth with jewelry made with vintage watch works, handmade soaps, candles, homemade doggie treats, ceramics and even vintage bicycles. It is a bustling and fun event your whole family will enjoy.
