Your Summer nights will sizzle with the jazz series on Thursday evenings at the DMA. Kick off the 2010 season of Jazz Under the Stars with Grammy Award–winner Danilo Pérez and his distinctive blend of Pan-American jazz.

Thursday, May 20 – Closing Weekend Celebration. Events begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, and run through 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22. to Sunday, May 23, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m
Celebrate the closing weekend of The Lens of Impressionism with concerts, tours, family experiences, and artist demonstrations. Stay late for films, open mic, performances in the galleries, and Creativity Challenges. The Museum will stay open round-the-clock, offering half-price ($8) exhibition tickets to The Lens of Impressionism and half-price ($5) parking in the Museum garage from midnight until 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Also starting at midnight, you can receive half-off any one item purchased in the exhibition stores. Some of the activities include:

French Films | Watch two of the most popular French movies ever made.
Au Revoir les Enfants (1987) 8:15 p.m., Horchow Auditorium
Based on director Louis Malle’s own childhood, this film tells the story of two boys (one who is Jewish and being hidden from Nazis) who become friends at a Catholic boarding school in the French countryside during World War II. This film is rated PG (101 minutes).
Amélie ( 2001) 10:30 p.m., Horchow Auditorium
Amélie is the charming story of an innocent and idealistic Parisian girl who decides to help those around her and, along the way, discovers love herself. Directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, this film was nominated for five Oscars. This film is rated R (121 minutes)

Kick off your summer with a traditional Main Street Outdoor Adventure. Your family will enjoy the weekend’s events, including the gunfighters of the Old West, non-stop entertainment on five stages highlighting a variety of music from rock and R&B to bluegrass and country, and festival foods including funnel cakes and corn dog!
Main Street Outdoor Adventure will also include two wine pavilions featuring Grapevine and Texas wines. Then make your way to the Western Wine Experience where you can sip your way around the western region of the United States with a variety of wines from California, Washington and Oregon. High-quality beer sampling will be available to accompany those masterfully grilled food fares. Enjoy arts and crafts, exhilarating carnival rides, and short runs on the Main Street Outdoor Adventure Mini Excursions at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad.
