Custom Made Goodness at the Park Lane Whole Foods Market

I finally visited the new Whole Foods Market on Park Lane. The new 64,000 square feet store is full of all the  natural and organic items you would expect to find in the largest Whole Food Market in Texas. But this store has a few extras.

There is Raw Bar where you can take your pick from a healthly selection of choices like Broccoli Cashew Crunch,  marinated vegetable salads and more.  The store also features an extensive selection of wines in the huge Wine Department.  One of my favorite things about Whole Foods Markets is their bulk foods aisle. The new store has fresh honey, syrups, agave nectar, tamari and oils, gourmet bulk salts, peppercorns and sugars. And for you peanutbutter lovers, there is a six-nut butter grinder, as well as oils & vinegars on tap.

For those of you on gluten-free diets, the store has a great variety of selections in the bakery. Or if beef is more to your taste, Dixon’s BBQ has slow-smoked brisket, smoked pork ribs and chicken. You can buy meat by the pound or have the Pit Boss make a sandwich for you.

I really loved  the variety of meals in  the ready-to-go department. The 20-foot chef case has items like orange chipotle turkey breast, sesame wasabi tuna and almost anything else you need to make a great dinner for your family.

Custom Made Yumminess

But right in the middle of the Bakery Department is the best thingin the whole store — The Cupcake Bar!  Believe it or not you can create your own cupcake.

Select a banana, carrot, chocolate, lemon, vanilla or  even a Vegan Chocolate cupcake.

Fill it with your choice of Chocolate Ganache,  German Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Vanilla Custard and fruit fillings.

Ice your cupcake with one the fresh Buttercreme frosting (Chocolate, Expresso, Maple Cinnamon, Strawberry, Vanilla or Salted Caramel), Cream Cheese Icing or Vegan Buttercreme.

Finally top your yummy creation with anything from dark chocolate curls, jelly bean, peanut brittle. toasted coconut, colored sprinkles or nuts.

With the variety of cupcakes, fillings, icings and topping, the possibilities are endless. My personal selection was a Chocolate cupcake with peanut butter filling, creme cheese buttercreme icing, topped with toasted pecans. It was WONDERFUL!

The new Whole Foods Market/Park Lane store is located off Central Expressway across from NorthPark Center. I highly recommend a visit.
