Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House
Walk down Flora Street, and cast your eyes on the red, glowing glass facade of the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House. With its transparent, soaring 60-foot glass walls revealing views of the Grand Lobby, the Winspear Opera House provides an intimate theater-going experience for all.
The Winspear Opera House has been the home of performances by Billy Crystal, Beauty and the Beast, Avenue Q. In addition to the hugely popular upcoming performance of Blue Man Group, Texas Ballet Theater’s, The Nutcracker and The Jazz Roots series, the Winspear Opera House will present the Academy Award winning composer T Bone Burnett, in a special evening concert.
During this unforgettable evening, T Bone Burnett will match his music to images and share his recollections from working with artists from B.B. King to the Coen brothers; as well as showing clips from films he’s been involved in and from other great films that have influenced his work.
T Bone Burnett won an Oscar for Best Original Song for “The Weary Kind,” the theme from Crazy Heart. He also worked as a composer, music supervisor and producer for movies such O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Walk the Line, Across the Universe, and The Big Lebowski. T Bone also won a Grammy for producing Raising Sand, a collaborative album featuring Alison Krauss and Robert Plant.

Dallas’ performing arts high school has a new home in the Dallas Arts District. The Booker T. Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts has produced a stellar list of famous graduates including Grammy Award®-winners Norah Jones, Erykah Badu and jazz trumpeter Roy Hargrove.
